Create a ‘hello world’ Xamarin App (in Visual Studio / .NET Framework), with embedded webclient and barcode reader.
Budget: $20 – $250 USD
Aim
-----------------------------
Our intention is to use a website as an app’s gui. The user shouldn’t be aware they are using an embedded webclient as the interface. There will be a page within the website with a html button called ‘scan barcode’. When clicked the webclient should seamlessly switch to the barcode reader, to capture the barcode. On completion, the result should be returned to the webpage, via javascript.
Steps
-----------------------------
1. User clicks button on embedded webclient triggering javascript
2. App switches to barcode reader
3. Barcode reader scans a barcode
4. Barcode returned to webclient via javascript
5. The webpage will post the barcode to the server
Tech requirements
-----------------------------
- Development platform - Xamarin in Visual Studio with .NET Framework.
- Deployment platforms - Android and iOS.
- Webclient - Chromium (Up to date and fully functional)
- Barcode reader - Capable of scanning all major barcode formats.
Using a reliable platform such as https://developers.google.com/ml-kit/vision/barcode-scanning/
Attachments
-----------------------------
- Image - Mockup of barcode reader.
- Website project - To be used for testing and demonstration.
Notes
-----------------------------
On successful completion of this project we would be looking for an ongoing relationship with further development required.
