Complete Our App
Budget: $250 – $750 USD
Hey, how’s it going? We have an app (according to our previous developers 90% done) called Eat-Here. We’re looking for a developer or a team who can help us finish the app, beta test and app store upload (and eventually with the continued maintenance and support of the app full time). The current developers that made the app were found through Upwork but due to a lot of circumstances we couldn’t continue working with them. We ask you to please read the next few paragraphs and questions carefully and give as much detail as possible when answering the questions as we are interviewing quite a few candidates. What’s the reason for so many questions and interviews? We made a mistake last time by not taking our time and interviewing several different candidates so this time we will try our best to interview as many as we can. Thank you for understanding now here we go!
About the Company: Ruthless Creations Inc.
-We’re a start-up company who’s just getting started into the app business. So far, we’re funding the company ourselves. Our budget is tight, we’re hoping to change that by making revenue to expand the app further but first we must launch! We’d like to build a relationship with people we’re working with and looking for individuals/teams for the long run.
About Eat-Here
-Eat-Here is available on both iOS and Android. It is a native application for both iOS and Android. Both are on the latest frameworks as of September 14th, 2021. Android: Java and iOS: Objective-C. On Android goes as far back as Android 5.0, but we deleted the old libraries and now it works on 7.0 to 10. According to our previous developers they can’t comment on Android 11 since it was “out of scope.” Yelp API is used to get restaurant data and Google map API is used to verify addresses due to some issues with the Yelp platform.
It’s an app designed to make it easier for users to find restaurants in a bit of a fun way. There are quite a few sections in the app including the Main dashboard and Main randomize button, Randomizer wheel, Food Finder, News Feed, Search bar, Advanced Search. All these categories are designed to help the user find restaurants for a night out and learn about new restaurants in their area. We suggest you check the app and familiarize yourself with it to see if this is something you can do. The code is available on GitHub if you would like to see.
What do we expect from you?
-Constant communication: We expect you to be able to communicate with us at the earliest convenience. Ex. We ask a question about the app, a quick reply acknowledging it would be great even if the answer isn’t available at the moment. We’ll do the same in return.
-Daily or weekly updates all depending on the situation
-Be able to work on both iOS and Android applications.
-Give us realistic time and effort quotes. No need to beat around the bush straight to the point.
-Be able to use AWS for app servers, Apple (Objective-C), Google (maps & Android/Java) and Yelp maps as they’ve been integrated into the app.
-Your knowledge and expertise: We like things to be a certain way, but we also value other people’s opinions. If what we’re adding may not work, we want you and your team to let us know. Communication is key
What can you expect from us?
-We want to start a relationship with our new app developer built on trust and communication. We want someone for the long run. We don't want to constantly be changing developers. We need someone who understands our product and understands how we want things done.
-Constant communication
-Trust and Honesty
-We will hold you accountable to the time frame you apply for updates, new features. So, if it isn’t done, we will need justification as we do want to stay in the loop
-Pay: $500 to complete, beta test and app store upload. (Can be negotiated, our budget is tight but we will try our best)
If interested please inquire with us we would like to ask further questions.
