Build features for a mobile app (React Native + AWS)
Budget: $30 – $250 USD
Looking for an experienced mobile app developer with experience in React Native (EXPO) and AWS.
We already have a working beta version of a collaborative news app built with React Native using Expo, AWS as backend and GA for tracking. It’s released on Playstore and Testflight in Sweden. The app allows users to read and discuss news from different sources in an organized manner.
We now want support with building and rebuilding a set of features and functions on both frontend and backend of the app, ranging from adding the possibility to follow users and being able to see a feed of articles that the user has interacted with, to adding new content sources, to adding a search function, to being able to post your own articles to the feed.
You’ll be working with an experienced product manager and CEO of the company, and we are looking for a collaboration that can be ongoing, as we generate new issues and solutions to work on. All planned features are defined as tickets with clear acceptance criteria and invision mockups, for smooth and agile development.
We would like you to start with doing effort estimation on one feature; and then building it, before we decide on continued collaboration.
The first feature is: Ability to post articles - these are the high-level requirements:
Acceptance Criteria:
1. It’s possible to post external articles to the app
2. Each post must contain a URL that links to an existing news article
3. Each post must contain a self-written summary and a comment, picture is optional
4. The article header should be taken from the main domain
5. The headline should be scraped from the URL H1
6. If a user has not filled out all mandatory fields, the post will not be posted and there
will be a prompt to urge them to fill all fields out
7. Each post should source the original headline (H1) from the URL link destination
8. The new screen “Posta” is accessible from a button icon on the bottom bar under the
burger menu
9. The button icon for help “Hjälp” is removed and placed inside the “Inställningar”
(settings) screen
Please reply with your time estimate for this feature and your hourly wage (which totals the price of this project). We understand that you may need some time to study and learn our existing code base, please include this too. We will provide more detailed plans and invite you to the Github after the estimation.
