Budget: Under $50 AUD.
You must test both platforms:
* iPhone running iOS 18 or later
* Android phone running Android 12 or later
Testing only one platform is not acceptable.
The iOS app is available from the Apple App Store.
The Android app is available through closed testing.
Testing must be completed using the supplied Mow Ops test account. The same test flow must be completed on both iOS and Android. The tester must report all issues, crashes, layout problems, missing features, confusing workflows, and iOS/Android differences.
⸻
Required Setup
Tester must have:
* iPhone with Mow Ops installed from the App Store
* Android phone with Mow Ops installed through closed testing
* Supplied Mow Ops test account
* Mobile data enabled
* Location/GPS enabled
* Camera and photo permissions enabled
* Notifications enabled
* Vehicle access for navigation, arrival, and departure testing
* Apple CarPlay and Android Auto if available
Safety: Do not manually use the app while driving. App interaction must only be done while parked and safe.
⸻
Required Testing
For each section below, complete the test on both iOS and Android and mark it as:
Passed / Failed / Blocked / Not Available
Screenshots or screen recordings must be provided for any issue.
1. Install, Permissions, Login
Test installation, launch, app permissions, login, logout, session handling, closing/reopening the app, and login error handling.
2. Settings
Open every settings, profile, account, support, help, terms, privacy, notification, location, and company/account screen available. Edit and save any editable setting and confirm it persists after reopening the app.
3. Clients
Create a client using the normal client creation flow. Add name, phone, email, billing/contact details, and notes where available. Save, reopen, edit, and search for the client.
Also test quick client creation from a quote, job, or property workflow. Confirm the client attaches correctly and appears in the main client list.
4. Properties
Create a property and attach it to the test client. Add address, property name/reference, access notes, and property notes where available. Save, reopen, edit, and search for the property.
Also test quick property creation from a quote or job workflow. Confirm the property attaches correctly and appears in the main property list.
5. Quotes
Create a quote using the test client and property. Add title, service description, line items, pricing/rates, and notes. Save, reopen, edit, preview, send/share/submit where available, and confirm quote status updates correctly.
6. Area Measurement / Add Areas
From the quote, add an area named “Front Lawn Test Area” and measure a simple area. Add a second area named “Back Lawn Test Area” and measure a different shape if possible. Edit one area, delete/remove an area if available, and confirm totals and quote pricing update correctly where applicable.
Check that maps load, points can be added/moved/removed, measurements save, and iOS/Android behaviour is consistent.
7. Convert Quote to Job
Convert or accept the completed quote into a job if available. Open the created job and confirm client, property, areas, notes, quote details, pricing, and status carry across correctly. Schedule and assign the job if required.
8. Create Job Without Quote
Create a job directly without a quote. Select the client and property, add title, description, instructions, date/time, areas if available, and notes. Save, reopen, edit, and confirm the job appears correctly in the schedule/list.
9. Navigation / Directions
Open a scheduled job with a real address. Test directions/navigation and confirm the correct destination opens in maps.
Test where available:
* Apple Maps / Google Maps on iOS
* Google Maps / Waze on Android
* Apple CarPlay
* Android Auto
Start navigation, drive toward the job, then return to Mow Ops. Confirm the app returns correctly and job state is not lost.
10. Arrival Detection
Start away from the job location. Open the job and start travel/navigation if available. Drive to the job location, park safely, and wait for auto-arrival.
Record:
* Start location
* Destination
* Distance travelled
* Whether app was open or in background
* Whether CarPlay/Android Auto was used
* Detection time
* Whether arrival was early, late, missed, or correct
Confirm job status, arrival time, and arrival-related functions appear correctly.
11. On-Site Job Functions
Test available on-site functions including starting work, job notes, before photos, gallery photos, viewing/deleting photos if allowed, materials/products/services, labour/time, forms/checklists, progress/status updates, saving, closing/reopening, and data persistence.
12. Follow-Ups
Create a follow-up from a client, property, quote, or job. Add title, date/time, notes, and assignee if available. Save, confirm it appears in the correct place, edit it, and mark complete if available. Create another follow-up from a different workflow.
13. Departure Detection
While the job is arrived/on-site/in-progress, leave the job location and drive away safely. Wait for auto-departure and reopen the app if it was backgrounded.
Record:
* Distance before departure triggered
* Detection time
* Whether app was open or in background
* Whether CarPlay/Android Auto was used
* Whether departure was early, late, missed, or correct
Confirm departure time, job status, and post-departure functions.
14. Job Completion
Open the job after on-site work. Add final notes and after photos, complete required forms/checklists, and mark the job complete. Reopen the completed job and confirm status/history.
15. Job Report
Generate or view the completed job report. Confirm client, property, notes, photos, arrival/departure/work details, measured areas, and other job data appear correctly. Preview, download, send, or share if available.
16. Invoicing and Payments
Create an invoice from a quote, job, or completed job. Confirm client/property details and job/quote items carry across. Add/edit line items if available. Check quantities, rates, GST/tax, discounts, totals, and final amount.
Save as draft if available, reopen, edit, preview, send/share/submit, and check payment options.
Test manual payment recording if available, including partial and full payments if supported. Confirm balance, payment history, notes, method, date, amount, and invoice status update correctly.
Do not test Tap to Pay. Record it as:
“Tap to Pay not tested - not configured for tester device/account.”
17. Notifications
Enable notifications. Create follow-ups/reminders and trigger job, quote, follow-up, and invoice status changes where possible. Confirm notifications are received, text is clear, and tapping opens the correct screen.
18. Offline / Poor Signal
Open a job, turn off mobile data/Wi-Fi or use airplane mode, then try viewing job details and adding a note/photo if allowed. Restore connection and check sync.
Confirm offline handling is clear, errors are useful, data is not lost, and the app does not crash.
