Smartshop (web)app
Budget: €1,500 – €3,000 EUR
The app I propose is a grocery shopping list app that utilizes pricing data from multiple supermarkets to recommend the cheapest option for each item on the list. The app will be called "SmartShop" for this project and will be available for both iOS and Android platforms.
Functionalities
User Registration: Users can create an account with SmartShop using their email address or by logging in with their Google or Facebook account.
This feature allows users to create an account within the app, which can be used to save their shopping lists and preferences. By logging in, users can access their account on different devices and have a seamless shopping experience.
Creating a shopping list:
Users can create a shopping list within the app by either scanning barcodes of the items they need or by manually typing in the names of the items. The app will suggest popular grocery items as the user types to make the process faster.
Price Comparison: Once the list is created, the app will compare prices for each item across multiple supermarkets and show the user the cheapest option. The app will also show the total cost of the shopping list and the total amount saved by selecting the recommended supermarkets.
This feature allows users to compare prices of the items on their shopping list across multiple supermarkets, and to select the supermarkets that offer the lowest prices. The app will also show the total cost of the shopping list, as well as the amount saved by selecting the recommended supermarkets.
Store Locator: The app will have a feature where users can search for the nearest stores for each recommended
supermarket.
This feature allows users to find the nearest stores for each recommended supermarket. This can be useful for users who are unfamiliar with the area or who are shopping in a new location.
Reminders: The app will allow users to set reminders for when they need to go grocery shopping or when they need to purchase a certain item.
This feature allows users to set reminders for when they need to go grocery shopping or when they need to purchase a certain item. This can be useful for users who have busy schedules and need a reminder to do their grocery shopping.
Sharing the shopping list: Users can share the shopping list with friends or family members, and they can also add or remove items from the list.
This feature allows users to share their shopping list with others, such as family members or roommates. This can be useful for coordinating grocery shopping or for keeping track of shared expenses.
User Feedback: Users can rate the recommendations provided by the app and provide feedback for the developers to improve the accuracy of the pricing data.
This feature allows users to provide feedback to the developers about the recommendations provided by the app. This can help to improve the accuracy of the pricing data, and to make the app more useful for users.
Create multiple lists based on the supermarkets
- The user creates a grocery list by adding items and their quantity.
- The app retrieves the prices of the items from the chosen supermarkets.
- The app determines the cheapest price of each item across all chosen supermarkets.
- The app divides the list into groups of items based on the cheapest prices per supermarket.
- The user can choose to view each group separately, or combine them into one list.
- The app generates a list of recommended supermarkets for each group based on the cheapest overall price.
- The user can choose to save the groups as separate lists for future reference.
