Full-Stack Developer Needed to Build Psychology-Driven Personal Growth Platform (MVP Phase)
Project Overview:
We are building a personal development platform grounded in Stoic philosophy, identity theory, and digital self-tracking. The system will function as both a journal and behavioural insights engine—helping users understand how they spend their time, where they can improve, and how to live more intentionally.
We’re looking for a highly capable full-stack developer to help us build the MVP version of the platform—desktop-first, with a future view toward mobile.
Key Features for MVP:
User Authentication & Profiles
Email login + social login (Google/GitHub)
Ability to save data securely and privately
Daily Tracker & Journal
Simple input for daily activities and reflections
Tagging system for life areas (e.g. work, health, relationships)
Activity logging: manual entry of time + optional integrations (Toggl, Google Calendar)
Insights Dashboard
Charts showing time spent by category
Prompts based on Stoic themes and user inputs
Streaks, summaries, and behavioural feedback
Custom Prompts & Scheduling
Set recurring reflective questions (e.g., “What did I avoid today?”)
Weekly and monthly reviews
Data Security & Export
Users should own their data (export to JSON/CSV)
GDPR-style privacy logic: no external data sharing
Preferred Tech Stack:
Frontend: React (with Tailwind CSS preferred)
Backend: Node.js or Python (FastAPI), open to Firebase for speed
Database: PostgreSQL, Firebase, or MongoDB
Auth: Firebase Auth or Clerk/Auth0
Optional Integrations: Strava, Notion API, Google Calendar, Zapier
Design Style:
Clean, minimalist aesthetic (think: Notion x ChatGPT x Stoic journal). UX must be intuitive and non-distracting.
Ideal Candidate:
Proven experience building SaaS platforms or self-tracking apps
Understands how to turn abstract philosophy into product logic
Great communicator – proactive in suggesting improvements
Available for check-ins (timezone flexible but preferably able to meet AEST evenings)
Deliverables:
A fully functioning MVP with UI and backend deployed
GitHub repo + simple deployment walkthrough (Vercel/Render preferred)
Basic user onboarding flow
Project delivered within 4–6 weeks
Bonus If You Can:
Create API endpoints for mobile app integration (Flutter or React Native)
Help with webhook-style integrations (Zapier, Make)
Set up admin dashboard for internal usage
