Real-Time Shared Playlist Mobile App
Budget: $250 – $750 CAD
I want a simple and straightforward mobile app that keeps everyone’s phones in sync while we listen to a single playlist I provide (no Spotify, Apple Music, or YouTube integrations needed). The core flow is simple:
• One device starts the session and streams the tracks from a central source I’ll supply.
• Friends on either iOS or Android scan a QR code, tap an invite link, or use any similarly painless method you suggest and immediately join the stream at the exact point the host is hearing.
• Late joiners shouldn’t have to fuss with log-ins, passwords, or complex setup; they tap, and the audio picks up right where the group currently is.
A minimal interface with basic play/pause controls is enough. The host can handle starting or skipping tracks; everyone else just listens.
Deliverables:
1. iOS and Android builds ready for TestFlight / internal testing.
2. Lightweight backend or local server component that serves the playlist files.
3. Clear setup documentation so I can add or update tracks myself.
4. Source code with brief inline comments.
I’m happy to discuss architecture choices—WebRTC, socket-based syncing, or any other approach you trust—as long as users experience reasonably closely-synched group playback and effortless entry into the session.
The simpler the better. :)
