React Native Update

I have a mobile iOS and Android app built in React Native. My current dev team are unable to make changes to the app codebase as it is unable to reliably get the project to compile for use in both simulators and test devices. Currently, builds are not going through due to errors that appear to be failures in the underlying Node scripts used by React Native, based on recent attempts.

Aside from issues preventing us from building the app, the app codebase appears to be built for mobile OSes approx 3 years back, and may have compatibility issues raised if submitted to their respective App Stores.

What is needed:
• The updated codebase that builds using an up to date stack/environment (e.g. latest iOS and Android development environment). The updated codebase should work targeting the latest iOS and Android OSes. This might entail needing updates to:
o Scaffolding code, configuration files and scripts
o Node libraries pulled in as dependencies
o React Native code
• Need to provide details including:
o List of dependencies updated and their version numbers
o Steps to reliably set up a build environment (on a macOS machine preferably)
o Steps to reliably build both the iOS and Android app
o Any special configuration needed in their respective toolkits
o Insights on any code/configuration that should not be modified in the course of making changes to the app functionality
