? IoT Project Brief for Web Developers ?

? Project Overview ?

We are developing firmware for a device capable of remotely controlling an actuator found in vehicles. The device will be able to communicate with a mobile and web application (PWA) over the internet with a cellular connection and locally through Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE).

? Web Platform Requirements ?

The web platform must have the following features:

? User registration and authentication.
? Device management (add, edit, and delete devices).
? Device control (activate and deactivate actuator via Internet or Bluetooth).
? Real-time data monitoring (actuator status, device location, battery level, etc.).
? Admin access to control devices from multiple clients.
? Notifications (e.g., actuator activated, device out of geo-fence boundaries, battery low).

? Technical Requirements ?

The web platform must be developed using the following technologies:

?️ Web framework: React, SvelteKit, or any other modern web framework. It must be a PWA to connect to a BLE device.
☁️ Cloud hosting platform: Azure, AWS, or GCP. (Needs to have IoT solutions).

? Timeline and Budget ?

The project is expected to be completed within 1 - 2 months, with multiple milestones. The budget for the web platform is to be defined, depending on experience and results, and delivery time.

? Deliverables ?

The following deliverables are expected for the web platform:

1️⃣ Working web application with all of the features listed above.
2️⃣ Codebase that follows good software engineering principles and has excellent comments.

Principles that we’re looking for:
? Modularity: The application should be divided into modules, each with a specific purpose. This makes the code easier to understand and maintain.
? Abstraction: The application should use abstraction to hide unnecessary details from the user. This makes the code more concise and easier to use.
? Error handling: The application should handle errors gracefully and provide helpful feedback to the user.
? Testing: The codebase should be well-tested to ensure that it is reliable and bug-free.

3️⃣ Comments are expected to be:
? Clear and concise.
? Explain the code, not just describe it.
? Up-to-date and reflect the current state of the code.
4️⃣ Deployment instructions.
5️⃣ Unit tests and integration tests.
6️⃣ Documentation (e.g., API documentation, user manual, development environment setup instructions).

? Communication and Collaboration ?

We will use Discord for communication and collaboration. We will also hold weekly status meetings to discuss progress and any challenges.
