Job ID: 38636215

Budget: $250 – $750 USD

Food and Cake Delivery App Overview
Goal: The app connects customers with cooks/bakers and drivers to facilitate the purchase and delivery of food and cakes, featuring a pre-paid balance system for cooks and drivers that generates commissions for the platform admin.

1. Customers
Registration/Login: Customers create an account using their email, phone number, or social media. After signing up, they can browse the available products.

Explore Products: Customers can view a list of food and cakes offered by cooks/bakers. Each product comes with descriptions, photos, and prices, allowing for an easy selection process.

Placing Orders: Once they’ve chosen the items they want, customers can add them to their cart and proceed to checkout. During checkout, they can choose their payment method: Mpesa, Visa, Mkesh, Emola, PayPal, or cash on delivery.

Real-Time Tracking: Once the order is confirmed, customers can track their order status in real-time via an integrated map, allowing them to see the driver’s location and estimated time of arrival.

Push Notifications: The app sends automatic alerts to keep customers updated on the status of their orders, from preparation to delivery.

Ratings and Reviews: After the delivery is completed, customers can rate and review both the cook/baker and the driver, helping maintain the quality of service.

2. Cooks/Bakers
Sign-Up and Profile Creation: Cooks register by creating a profile with their personal details, a menu of products, operating hours, and prices. They must maintain a positive balance in their account to accept orders and continue operating.

Pre-Paid Balance System: To start working, cooks need to top-up their account balance within the app. This can be done through payment systems such as Mpesa, Visa, Mkesh, Emola, or PayPal. Every time they accept an order, a small commission is deducted from their balance. As they make sales, the balance is debited based on the admin’s commission.

Product Management: Cooks can list new products, update prices, remove items, and manage orders.

Accepting Orders: When a customer places an order, the cook receives a notification and can accept or decline the order. Once accepted, the cook prepares the food and notifies the driver for pick-up.

Tracking Earnings: Cooks can view their accumulated earnings on the app dashboard, managing their sales and withdrawals.

3. Drivers
Sign-Up/Login: Drivers also need to create a profile in the app, providing personal and vehicle information. Like the cooks, they must maintain a positive balance in their account to continue accepting deliveries.

Pre-Paid Balance System: Drivers need to deposit an initial balance to operate on the platform. This balance is deducted with each delivery they complete, with a commission paid to the admin. The balance can be topped up via Mpesa, Visa, Mkesh, Emola, or PayPal.

Accepting Deliveries: Drivers receive notifications of new delivery requests in their area. They can accept or reject the delivery, and once accepted, they receive the order details and the pick-up location.

Real-Time Navigation: The driver uses integrated map navigation to find the best route to the cook’s location and then to the customer. Customers can track the driver’s delivery progress in real-time.

Status Updates: After completing the delivery, the driver updates the status in the app, notifying the customer that the order has been delivered.

4. Administrator
Admin Dashboard: The platform admin (you) has access to a control panel to manage all aspects of the app, including users (customers, cooks, and drivers), orders, payments, and commissions.

Commissions: The admin earns through commissions charged on each sale made by cooks and each delivery completed by drivers. These commissions are automatically deducted from the cooks’ and drivers’ balances.

Real-Time Monitoring: The admin can monitor orders in real-time, tracking the status of each transaction to ensure everything is running smoothly. The admin can also monitor the balances of cooks and drivers, sending alerts if their balance is low.

Reports and Analytics: The admin can generate detailed reports on platform performance, such as the number of orders, earnings, commissions, ratings, and customer feedback, to optimize the service.

Pre-Paid Balance System and Business Model
Pre-Paid System: Both cooks and drivers must maintain a positive balance in their accounts within the app to continue operating. Each time they complete a sale or delivery, a commission is automatically deducted from their balance. This ensures that the admin receives their share and that the system remains sustainable.

Top-Up Options: Cooks and drivers can add balance using various payment methods popular in Mozambique, such as Mpesa, Visa, Mkesh, Emola, and PayPal. This offers flexibility and convenience to all users.

Win-Win Model: The app is designed to benefit all parties involved. Customers gain access to a wide variety of products and fast deliveries. Cooks and drivers earn money while the platform admin earns commissions from each transaction, making the business scalable and sustainable.
