Multi Cuisine Restaurant Finder App
Budget: ₹600 – ₹1,500 INR
I’m building a mobile application whose sole focus is helping users discover great food, not place orders. Think of it as a smart, location-aware catalogue of restaurants covering multiple cuisines, where people can browse menus in detail and decide where to eat or what to pick up.
Core search experience
• Users start with a simple search bar or let the app read their current location. Results should return nearby restaurants as well as those that match any text query.
• A filter drawer must allow dietary preferences (vegan, gluten-free, halal, etc.) to be toggled on and off without reloading the whole list.
• Every restaurant card surfaces an aggregated user rating and the first three written reviews; tapping drills down to the full review set.
• From a menu view, dishes should be grouped logically and display images, prices and allergens. No checkout flow is needed right now.
Tech preferences
I’m open to React Native, Flutter or pure native builds—choose the stack you’re fastest with, just keep the UI fluid and the codebase easy for another dev to extend later. For data we can start with a lightweight Node/Express or Firebase back end; if you have an existing restaurant API wrapper that will speed us up, even better.
Deliverables
1. Clickable high-fidelity prototype (Figma or similar) for approval
2. Full source code with clear component structure and comments
3. API documentation or Postman collection for all endpoints used
4. README with build instructions and environment variables
5. A brief hand-off call or video walkthrough
Acceptance criteria
• Search returns results in <1 s with location services on a mid-range Android device
• Dietary filter, ratings and proximity filters work together without clashing or resetting
• App passes standard accessibility checks (font scale, colour contrast)
• Tested on at least one recent iOS and one recent Android version
If any part of the scope seems unclear, let’s discuss it upfront so we can keep the timeline tight and the user experience polished.
