Mobile App Controlled Flip-Up Target System
Budget: $1,500 – $3,000 USD
I'm looking for a seasoned designer and developer to help me create a flip-up target system. The system should allow a shooter to program 1-10 solo units to flip up and display a target at random times.
Key Requirements:
- The targets are silhouette or metal plates that flip up
- A mobile app for programming the targets
- The app should allow for target selection, delay time, and active time
Ideal Skills:
- Experience with designing and developing interactive target systems
- Proficient in mobile app development
- Understanding of mechanics of flip-up systems
Most outdoor shooting ranges have bays with berms on either side so the shooter can do pretty much what he wants within the bay. However, there are no moving targets available. I want to design a flip-up target system where a shooter can program 1-10 units to flip up and display a target at random times.
Two items:
1) A software app for controlling 1-10 target units
2) Solo flip-up target units controlled via Bluetooth/WiFi from the iPhone, or laptop
Portable flip-up targets to be loaded in the car and taken to the gun range to practice shooting tactical rifles, shotgun or pistols. Electronically controlled flip-up targets, will be activated by Wi-Fi or Bluetooth, one at a time according to the initial inputs set up on the software app.
Software App Inputs:
1) target selection (Random Number Generator -- 1-5)
2) delay time until next target pops up
3) active time -- how long the target stays up if the shot doesn't knock it down
Targets will be single units. The center of rotation will be 2 feet above ground and the mechanism for flipping the targets is protected from shotgun pellets by a light metal stand which also acts as a shield. The rotating arm will be 12" long and the target attached to the end by a clamp. The target can be either a metal pane or a corrugated cardboard target.
Each unit has to be portable enough to fit in the trunk of a car.
