Low-Power Smart Sensor System with Mobile Alerts

Job ID: 39551198

Budget: $750 – $1,500 USD

We’re developing a compact, long-life smart sensor device that monitors mechanical activity and detects abnormal events using motion and/or sound. The system will include a companion iOS and Android mobile app for device setup, real-time alerts, and event tracking. Phase 1 focuses on building a working prototype with core features. Phase 2 will introduce AI-driven predictive insights.

What’s Needed:

Hardware Requirements (Sensor Device)

Board and component selection is open, but the device must:
• Include motion and sound detection (via gyroscope/accelerometer and microphone)
• Connect via Wi-Fi (Bluetooth optional for setup)
• Operate on battery power for at least 3 years
• Be small enough to mount discreetly
• Detect specific mechanical events and log them

Power efficiency and consistent performance are top priorities.

Mobile App Requirements (iOS + Android)

We need fully functional native or cross-platform apps for iOS and Android that can:
• Pair/setup the device over local Wi-Fi
• Display real-time sensor status
• Show a history of detected events
• Deliver push notifications for triggered events
• Allow users to register and manage multiple devices under a single account

Apps should be user-friendly and ready for customer beta testing.

Backend Infrastructure

A lightweight backend using Firebase, Supabase, or similar is needed to:
• Store device logs and user data
• Handle authentication and device pairing
• Allow for future OTA updates and AI integration

Phase 2 – AI Insights (Future Upgrade)

The system will eventually support AI-based pattern recognition to offer predictive alerts before failure or anomalies occur. The architecture should be built with this capability in mind.
