Project Overview:
I need a developer to build an end-to-end system that offloads AI inference from a resource-constrained IoT device to a cloud server. The project involves developing a mobile/embedded application that collects real-time user input, sends it to the cloud for AI inference, and then receives and displays the inference results on the device.
Key Tasks and Deliverables:
IoT Device Application (Local Inference Component):
Develop a mobile/embedded app for real-time data collection using sensors (touch, microphone, camera, etc.).
Implement local AI inference on the device (or simulate it) and display the results.
Ensure the application runs on an emulator or physical IoT device (e.g., smartphone, Raspberry Pi).
Cloud Server Setup and Inference (Cloud Inference Component):
Set up a cloud virtual machine (preferably on Google Cloud or a similar platform) to host the AI inference service.
Develop a server application (using Python/Flask or similar) that accepts data from the IoT device, performs AI inference, and returns the results.
Ensure secure, bidirectional communication between the IoT device and the cloud server.
Advanced Features (Optional but Preferred):
Implement support for multiple concurrent users accessing the cloud service.
Enable online model updating, where new user data can be used to retrain or update the AI model in real time.
Additional Requirements:
Provide source code along with detailed documentation.
Deliver a video demo (max 5 minutes) showing the system in action.
Maintain confidentiality by keeping the code and demo private.
Skills Required:
Experience with IoT and mobile application development (Android/iOS/embedded systems).
Cloud computing skills, including virtual machine setup and server-side development.
Knowledge of AI inference, preferably using TensorFlow, PyTorch, or similar frameworks.
Familiarity with networking protocols (HTTP/REST, MQTT) and real-time communication.
