Development of a Flutter Library for In-App PDF Editing for a Craft Industry App
Budget: €1,500 – €3,000 EUR
Project Goal:
We aim to integrate PDF viewing, editing, and saving functionalities directly within our craft industry app, with a particular focus on plan documents. This feature should enable on-site technicians to open, edit, and save plans seamlessly, facilitating real-time collaboration with office staff. While the apryse tool offers similar functionalities, it is cost-prohibitive. Therefore, we seek an open-source or license-free alternative, easily integrable as a Flutter Pub Package.
Functional Requirements:
- PDF Editing and Saving:
- Open, edit, and save PDFs within the app.
- Editing and saving are handled entirely within the app without redirection to external applications.
File Size and Performance:
- Smooth and efficient handling of PDFs up to 50 MB in size.
- Low latency and fluid performance for large files, especially construction plans.
Editing Features:
- Add Text: Users should be able to fill out text fields directly in the PDF.
- Freehand Drawing: Allow users to add notes or sketches with freehand drawing.
- Eraser Function to correct drawings.
- Highlighting: Enable users to highlight sections in the document as they would with a marker.
- Zoom and Navigation: Easy zooming and panning to help users navigate large construction plans.
Measurement Tools:
- Users should be able to measure distances based on a set reference value (e.g., “This distance equals 1 meter”).
- Measurement Chains: Users should be able to create geometric shapes by defining points connected by lines.
Availability:
- The final product should be available as a Flutter Pub Package with no associated licensing costs.
UI/UX Requirements:
- A UI-UX prototype with detailed screenshots will be provided to illustrate the requirements and desired layout.
- Usability is paramount, as the target users (technicians) may have limited technical experience.
Developer/Team Requirements:
- Extensive experience with Flutter, ideally with knowledge in PDF handling and display.
- Basic understanding of geometric calculations and measurement functions.
Immediate availability and the ability to work under tight deadlines.
Collaboration and Communication: We are looking for clickworkers who can start development immediately. Regular feedback sessions and transparent communication are essential to ensure all functional and timing requirements are met.
