Cross-Platform Mobile App for Asset Management

Job ID: 38678177

Budget: $10 – $1,000 USD

We are seeking an experienced mobile app developer (or development team) to create a cross-platform mobile application for our white-labeled Snipe-IT asset management system. The app will be used primarily by field workers and inventory personnel to manage assets, view asset details, add new assets, and optionally integrate with UHF RFID technology for automated asset tracking.

The app needs to be developed for both iOS and Android using either React Native or Flutter. The app will interact with the Snipe-IT API to fetch asset data and perform actions like adding new assets, scanning barcodes/QR codes, and viewing details of assigned assets. Additionally, the app should support RFID integration to enable long-range asset scanning through an external RFID reader.

Snipe-IT Overview:

Website: https://snipeitapp.com/
API Documentation: https://snipe-it.readme.io/reference
General Documentation: https://snipe-it.readme.io/docs

Key Features:
Login and Authentication:
Users will log in using their credentials (via an API token-based authentication system).
The app will support organization-specific logins (e.g., Org ID → username → password).

View Assigned Assets:
A list view of assets assigned to the user or specific locations.
Search, filter, and sort functionality to make asset retrieval easier.
Asset Details:

Detailed asset view with information such as name, category, serial number, location, status, and any custom fields.
Ability to scan a QR code or barcode to quickly retrieve asset information.

Add New Assets:
Form to add new assets with fields like asset name, category, serial number, location, and custom notes.
Option to scan barcodes/QR codes to populate fields.
Image upload for assets.
Check-in/Check-out (Optional):

Ability to check in and check out assets, allowing field users to update the status of an asset directly from the app.
RFID Integration for Automated Asset Tracking:

Support integration with external UHF RFID readers to enable real-time asset tracking over a wide area (e.g., 20x20 meter room).
The system should be able to retrieve data from the RFID reader to automatically detect and list all RFID-tagged assets within the reader's range.
The app should be able to pull this data from a backend system (or via API) to display a real-time inventory of RFID-tagged assets in a room or location.
Support for triggers/alerts when assets leave the RFID-scanned area (e.g., missing assets).

Note: The RFID reader itself will be an external device that provides long-range scanning. The mobile app should be designed to interface with the RFID management system or backend.

Simple and User-Friendly UI:
The app should be designed for ease of use with a simple, intuitive interface that works well for field users and inventory personnel.
Focus on fast navigation and efficient workflows.

Additional Requirements

Cross-Platform:
The app must be built for both iOS and Android using React Native or Flutter.

API Integration:
The app will use the Snipe-IT RESTful API for all asset data management (fetching asset details, adding new assets, updating asset status, etc.).
You must have experience in integrating mobile apps with RESTful APIs and handling token-based authentication (OAuth/JWT).
Barcode/QR Code Scanning:

Integrate barcode/QR code scanning functionality for asset identification and data entry.
RFID Integration:

Integration with external UHF RFID readers to detect and track RFID-tagged assets.
Ability to interface with a backend system that manages the RFID reader's data and reflects changes in real-time within the app.
Offline Functionality (Optional):

If possible, implement basic offline functionality where users can still view and manage assets even without an internet connection. Sync back to the server once the connection is restored.

App Deployment:
The app will need to be deployed to both the Apple App Store and Google Play Store. Please provide assistance with this process if needed.

Skills Required:
React Native or Flutter (please specify in your proposal which framework you will use)
Mobile App Development for iOS and Android
Experience with REST API Integration
Barcode/QR Code Scanning in mobile apps
RFID Integration (experience working with external RFID readers or systems for asset tracking)
UI/UX Design for mobile apps (with a focus on simplicity and ease of use)
Deliverables:
Fully functional cross-platform mobile app for both iOS and Android.
Source code and project documentation.
API integration with Snipe-IT for asset management.
Barcode/QR code scanning implementation.
RFID integration with an external reader system for real-time asset tracking.
Assistance with app deployment to the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.

Timeline:
Please provide an estimated timeline for completion in your proposal. We are looking for a quick turnaround, but quality and performance are the top priorities.

Budget:
We are open to receiving bids based on the proposed scope and the estimated time required. Please provide a detailed breakdown of costs in your proposal.

How to Apply
Please include the following in your proposal:
Examples of previous mobile app projects you’ve worked on (especially with React Native or Flutter).
A brief description of how you will approach this project (including the tools and libraries you will use).
Experience with RFID systems and integrating RFID technology into mobile apps (if applicable).
Estimated timeline for delivery.
Any additional features or recommendations you have for improving the app based on the scope provided.

More importantly, I didn't write all of this so you can use autobids. If you want me to read your proposal please type RED at the beginning of it. Proposals without it will be 100% ignored and hidden.
