Build a phone app for playing sounds
Budget: $30 – $250 USD
1 Sound Playing App (Version 1.0)
The idea of the app is to be able to play different type of sounds using the app. Basically it’s an audio player with some additional features.
Features
1. Select any sound to play from a pre-loaded list.
2. List sounds and ability to scroll through them. Ability to search/filter the list.
3. Record/Upload your own sound and add data attributes. (Basically add/edit/delete a sound)
4. 5 Quick access buttons (same as speed dial buttons)
5. Add sounds to favorites. Create multiple favorite lists and ability to load any of them.
6. Repeat sound x times
7. Create a sequence of sounds to play one after the other/Playlist
8. Play Random sound (shuffle feature)
9. Add sound effects. Example echo.
10. Editing feature Example Trim, Combine and then able to save it
11. Import sounds from phone
12. Play-Pause-Mute-Loop-Forward-Rewind-Start-End buttons for sounds longer than 'x' seconds. Volume control.
13. Each sound will have the following data attributes
a. Title
b. Description
c. Filename in storage
d. Thumbnail
e. Poster Image
f. Artist
g. Composed by
h. Music
i. Some other similar pieces of Meta-Data
14. Sound can be either a file on the user's app or from a url.
15. Data should be stored as a JSON text file in a folder that can be easily edited to load initial data with the app when its downloaded. Actual sound files, thumbnails will be stored on the phone in folders. There is no server-side component or data at this time.
User Preferences
1. Volume setting (Btw it should remember the last volume setting).
2. Option to register at our site.
It should be designed in react native with ability to play on IOS, android phones. Code should be written in an easily understandable form for any programmer, and you should add inline comments appropriately to make the logic easily understood. Some documentation would be required for a new programmer to understand how the code logic is flowing.
Minor changes in features can occur during the process of building the app. Any suggestions will be welcome. If any feature is too complicated to add then we can discuss it. Budget is very limited, but this should be a great project for anyone looking to gain experience and build a good portfolio. I will probably get more apps developed in the future so there will be more opportunities.
I am myself a software engineer, but I do not have the time to build the app myself, but I do have a lot of ideas that I would like to see implemented as apps.
