Overview:
We are seeking an experienced mobile app developer to lead the design and development of our app, a highly secure messaging app that utilizes PGP encryption. This app will offer users a unique 30-digit identifier for account management, with no need for traditional usernames or passwords. Our App is being built for privacy-conscious users who need a reliable, intuitive, and secure platform for encrypted communications.
Responsibilities:
Develop and implement for Android and iOS, focusing on a streamlined, user-friendly experience.
Integrate PGP encryption (end-to-end) for secure messaging, ensuring only authorized users can decrypt messages.
Implement a unique user ID system and secure app lock feature (password and/or biometric options).
Create a secure local storage solution for public and private PGP keys, with AES-256 encryption.
Build messaging functions that allow users to encrypt messages with recipients’ public keys and decrypt them upon receipt.
Collaborate with the project owner and designers to align on the app’s UX/UI for simplicity and security.
Perform rigorous testing to ensure security and app stability.
Requirements:
Proven experience in mobile app development for Android and iOS, with a strong understanding of encryption and security protocols.
Proficiency in Kotlin (Android) and Swift (iOS) and familiarity with secure data storage and device-specific encryption.
Knowledge of PGP encryption and experience with libraries like OpenPGP.js, BouncyCastle (Android), or ObjectivePGP (iOS).
Ability to design and implement secure authentication and access controls.
Familiarity with secure app locking mechanisms and best practices for data privacy.
Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to high security standards.
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous experience in building secure communication or encrypted messaging apps.
Experience with backend setup (Firebase or a simple REST API) for minimal metadata storage (if needed).
