Lead Millwork Shop Operator Needed
Budget: $25 – $50 USD
Insight Global is seeking a candidate to operate and lead a millwork shop for our client in Virginia Beach, Virginia. The ideal candidate will have experience in carpentry and millwork, with a strong understanding of various millworking techniques and machinery. This individual will be reading an interpreting drawings to perform and complete projects as assigned. Each project will be custom built based on client requests. This is a lead role and primary responsibilities will include oversight and management of a small team of shop workers.
Responsibilities:
• This role involves working with both hand tools and power tools to create high-quality custom products from various materials.
• The individual will play a crucial role in ensuring that all projects meet the required specifications and standards.
• Operate equipment to cut, shape, and finish custom products per client requirements.
• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine project requirements.
• Build custom millwork items such as cabinets, doors, wall features, and moldings according to design specifications and drawings.
• Perform machining tasks including sanding, routing, and assembly of components.
• Maintain a clean and organized workspace while adhering to safety protocols.
• Collaborate with and supervise a team of five workers to ensure timely completion of projects.
Must Haves:
• 10+ years of experience performing custom millwork using various materials, machinery, tools, and techniques.
• Proficient in using power tools such as saws, drills, sanders, edge banders, jointers, planers, CNC machines, and related hand tools.
• Proficient working with multiple surfaces such as milled lumber, high pressure laminates (HPL), veneers, and solid surfaces such as Corian.
• Strong attention to detail with a commitment to producing high-quality work.
• Ability and desire to provide oversight to a small team of millworkers.
• Ability to lift heavy materials and stand for extended periods during work shift.
