Jython Akai Melodic Performance

Job ID: 39989871

Budget: ₹1,500 – ₹12,500 INR

I’m looking for a neatly-written Jython script that turns an AKAI MPK Mini into the heart of a small live show. The end result should be a performance that plays clear, engaging melodic lines when I touch the pads or keys and reacts in real time to my playing rather than simply spitting out a static MIDI file.

Here is what matters to me:
• It must run under Jython, not standard CPython, so please keep to libraries that load cleanly on the JVM.
• The controller in use is the AKAI MPK Mini; mapping the pads, knobs and keys in a way that feels musical is part of the brief.
• Output should be melodic rather than purely percussive or ambient. Think arpeggiators, layered leads, evolving chord voicings—anything that keeps the listener’s ear on a tune.
• I enjoy surprises: generative or algorithmic techniques are welcome as long as they stay consonant and tuneful.

Deliverables
1. The Jython (.py) file with clear inline comments.
2. A short README explaining installation steps, any external JARs or MIDI drivers required, and how to launch the performance.
3. A preset or JSON/XML mapping (if needed) for the AKAI MPK Mini so I can load your layout in one step.

Acceptance
If I can plug in the controller, start the script, and immediately create melodic phrases without debugging, we’re good. Let me know if you plan to rely on specific libraries (e.g., javax.sound.midi, JFugue) so I can test compatibility early.
