Word VBA 64-Bit Conversion
Budget: $30 – $250 USD
I have an existing Word document whose VBA macros were written years ago for 32-bit Word on Windows. The code pulls in local photographs that sit in C:\Photos. Everything still runs perfectly on legacy machines, but on newer 64-bit Office builds—and especially on Word for Mac—the macros fail because of missing PtrSafe declarations and a few Windows-only calls.
Your task is to modernise the code so the very same document works unchanged on:
• 64-bit Word for Windows
• Word for Mac (current Microsoft 365 release)
All existing functionality must remain intact: the macros should continue to populate tables and insert the correct images from the photos folder and from a similar folder on my Mac.
Acceptance criteria
– No compile errors or warnings in either environment
– Photo insertion works on both platforms without manual edits
– Clear, in-code comments showing what you changed and why
– A brief README outlining any new references or settings I need to enable
If this sounds routine to you and you are comfortable testing on both platforms, I’m ready to send the file right away.
