Job Title
Build proposal and quoting automation using Word templates and Excel pricing (No code / low code)
Overview
I’m looking for a freelancer to help me build a simple but robust automation to generate proposals and quotes faster.
The goal is to take a small set of inputs, automatically populate a Microsoft Word proposal template, pull pricing from a structured price list, and output a finished proposal and quote in Word and PDF format.
I do not have a coding background, so the solution needs to be no code or low code and easy for me to maintain once handed over.
What the system needs to do (Phase 1)
Take inputs such as:
Client name
Site name
Quote number
Date
Scope selections (eg include install yes or no, include monitoring yes or no)
Populate a pre existing Microsoft Word proposal template using placeholders or content controls
Pull pricing from a master price list (Excel or Google Sheets)
Build a clean pricing table with:
Line items
Quantities
Unit pricing
Subtotal
GST logic (Australia)
Total
Automatically generate:
Final Word document
PDF version
Save files to a folder with a clear naming convention
Tools and approach
Preferred tools:
Microsoft Power Automate or Make.com (open to advice)
Microsoft Word templates
Excel or Google Sheets for pricing
No custom software development required. The focus is automation and document generation.
Deliverables
Fully working automation flow
Configured Word template with dynamic fields
Structured price list with lookup logic
Example outputs using test data
Short written guide or screen recording explaining:
How to run it
How to update pricing
How to modify the template
Nice to have (not required for phase 1)
Basic AI integration to draft scope or explanatory text
Suggestions on how to extend this later into drawings or more advanced automation
Experience required
Power Automate or Make.com experience
Word document automation and templating
Excel or Google Sheets automation
Experience with proposal or quoting systems is a plus
