Novel Conversion Proofreading Specialist

I have just finished converting my novel into a new file format and the shift left behind a trail of little glitches—odd line breaks, double spaces, inconsistent quotation marks, and the occasional typo that sneaks through every time text is moved. I need a fresh, detail-oriented set of eyes to comb through the entire manuscript and return it in publish-ready shape.

Your job is to read the book front to back and correct anything that disrupts the reader’s flow: missing commas, extra periods, British-vs-US spelling mix-ups, style inconsistencies between chapters, you name it. Please keep an eye out for conversion artifacts such as mis-wrapped dialogue and broken scene breaks as well.

I work in Microsoft Word, so you’ll receive a .docx file and I’d like your edits tracked. At hand-off I’ll need two files:

• a clean, fully corrected version
• a tracked-changes version so I can review every amendment

Turnaround time is flexible but I’d prefer not to stretch it beyond a week once you start. Experience with long-form fiction is a big plus, especially if you’ve dealt with manuscripts that have been moved between formats. Looking forward to seeing the novel shine after your careful proofread.
