Hindi Book Proofreading and Formatting
Budget: ₹1,500 – ₹12,500 INR
My English-language book has already been translated into Hindi. I now need the Hindi manuscript polished and laid out so it is truly print-ready.
Scope of work
The text requires a thorough proofread to catch spelling slip-ups, awkward phrases, or context errors. While many key terms must mirror the English edition, you may adapt wording where a direct match feels culturally forced—clarity and natural Hindi always win. Once the language is clean, the entire file must be set in a standard print book style. I will share the exact formatting template along with the English PDF for side-by-side reference.
Formatting expectations
• Proper alignment and consistent paragraph styles
• Thoughtful page breaks and chapter openings
• Headers, footers, and page numbers that follow the template
• Final output delivered as a press-ready PDF (and source file—Word, InDesign, or the tool you prefer)
Timeline
Everything—proofreading, corrections, and finished layout—should be completed within 30 days, giving us a little breathing room for my final sign-off.
Acceptance criteria
• Zero critical language errors and a smooth entertainment-oriented tone throughout
• All specified English terms retained or culturally adjusted as discussed
• File passes pre-press checks with no formatting flags
I’ll supply the Hindi draft, the English reference PDF, and the layout template as soon as we start.
