Correct Novel Formatting in Word
Budget: $15 – $25 USD
I'm looking for a skilled formatter to fix mixed formatting in my 119,000-word novel on Microsoft Word. Previous attempts by techs have failed.
The manuscript has:
- Improper line spacing
- Misaligned paragraphs
- Mixed margins and indents
Ideal skills and experience:
- Expertise in Microsoft Word
- Experience with novel formatting (not sure this is necessary; it was suggested)
- Attention to detail and precision
Microsoft techs have taken remote control of my computer and thought they had it fixed, but given the various transfer from computer to computer and editions of Word over a 25 year span, mixed formatting with an almost ghostly effect seems to appear when attempted corrections are made. I think the techs time was somewhat limited so that constraint may have kept them from solving the problem, if it can be solved.
Be aware that the document appears to be intact and properly formatted and spaced through my rudimentary work-arounds, but when it is uploaded to other parties and especially copied and pasted into agent query formats, some lines are double length. Some of the other work-arounds that made line spacing, indents and margins appear to be proper in the document fail when the document is uploaded by others.
Please ensure the document is polished and ready for publication (there will be some ongoing but minimal self-editing by the author after the project).
While an intermediate skilled person with Microsoft Word proficiencies could rewrite the document, I'm hoping for expertise that may be able to salvage most of the existing word processing. At a minimum, it will have to be a new document.
