Job Research Comprehensive Project
Goal: To explore potential career options, understand the job market, and identify jobs that might interest you while documenting your research process and AI enhancements in OneNote and creating a professional job flyer in Microsoft Word. Additionally, reflect on your use of AI to refine your work and document the impact it had on your process.
Software Note: You should be working in the full version of Microsoft Word and OneNote on your local PC, as it provides all the necessary features needed for this project. Avoid using web-based or limited versions of Word or OneNote. See the Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) topic in this Canvas course for more information on a full version install for Microsoft Office.
Step 1: Research Job Information and Create OneNote (digital note-taking app)
Organize Your Work:
Create a new folder in OneDrive named: lastname_firstname_job_research.
Create a new Microsoft OneNote file (on your local computer not Web Apps) named lastname_firstname_job_preparation which will house your job research for all your comprehensive projects (4 of them) and save it in your OneDrive folder named lastname_firstname_job_research.
Create the following sections in your job preparation OneNote file (you will only use Career Options and Flyer for this assignment):

Step 2: Create Your Job Research Flyer
Organize Your Work:

Create Flyer:
Create a new Microsoft Word document, on your local pc using the full version, file named lastname_firstname_flyer_draft and save it in your OneDrive folder named lastname_firstname_job_research.

Step 3: Modify your content with an AI tool
Use an AI tool
Before finalizing, copy the text content from your flyer (do not copy images or formatting) into an AI writing tool (such as Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT, or Grammarly).
Ask the AI to improve professionalism, grammar, clarity, and word choice while keeping the tone appropriate for a professional job flyer.
Review AI suggestions and revise your flyer only in ways that keep the original formatting, layout, and design consistent with your draft. NOTE: Be sure to keep the flyer format (headings, bullet list, graphics, header/footer, etc. in your document. Only modify the AI text suggestions.
Confirm (save) this file as a new file named lastname_firstname_flyer_final is in your OneDrive folder. The final document is your draft document revised with the AI changes integrated into it which becomes the final document. NOTE: You should have 2 Word documents (draft and a final) in your OneDrive folder.
Step 4: Document Your AI experience
NOTE: Do not upload or insert your Word document into your OneNote notebook. Instead, use your OneNote pages to describe your experience using AI.

Open the OneNote desktop app (installed as part of Microsoft Office).

Select the page or section you want to export.
Go to File > Export.
Under Export Current, choose Page or Section (OneNote cannot export an entire notebook to PDF in one step).
Under Select Format, choose PDF (*.pdf).
Click Export.
Choose where to save the file and click Save.
Option 2: OneNote Desktop App (Mac)
