Need a simple API to pull data from a table in our Azure SQL database

We're a startup with an Azure SQL database full of data. We want clients/users to be able to access the data in on of the tables, so that they can access our data. The API needs to be able to handle authentication.
This will likely be the first of a few APIs.
(The skills required are: Be able to build APIs which access Azure SQL.)
