CLR assembly function creation

I've created an assembly from a dll and when trying to create a stored function (in SQL Server) that makes an external call to the assembly, I consistently get "type doesn't exist in assembly" error. I've tried absolutely everything by way of ensuring namespaces, classes, methods etc. exist in the c# code of the dll, and simply cannot get past that error
