Azure Database Setup & Web Portal Visualisation Tools

Job ID: 39117890

Budget: £250 – £750 GBP

I am looking for a freelancer to support me in setting up a database on Microsoft Azure and developing visualisation tools for a web portal. The portal will serve as a data visualisation layer, integrated into my existing website, primarily focused on mapping and timeline-based project displays.

Scope of Work

1. Azure Database Setup
• Configure and set up a scalable Azure SQL database (or other recommended Azure data storage solution).
• Structure the database to store project-related data, ensuring efficient querying and retrieval.
• Implement secure access controls and optimise for performance.

2. Map-Based Visualisation
• Develop an interactive map to dynamically display project locations.
• The map should pull real-time data from the Azure database.
• Implement basic filtering options (e.g., show only active projects).

3. Timeline-Based Project View
• Create a timeline visualisation within the portal to display upcoming and active projects.
• Ensure each project has key details (name, start date, status, etc.) pulled from the database.

4. Portal Integration
• The visualisation portal should be embedded within my existing website.
• The website will handle core functionalities, while the portal is purely for data visualisation.
• Ensure seamless integration via iframe, API, or other suitable methods.

Requirements
• Experience with Microsoft Azure, specifically database management and APIs.
• Frontend development skills for interactive map and timeline components (React, Vue, or similar frameworks preferred).
• Data visualisation expertise (e.g., using Mapbox, Leaflet, D3.js, or similar libraries).
• Ability to optimise for performance (handling large datasets efficiently).
• Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively.

Deliverables
1. Fully functional Azure database setup.
2. Interactive map displaying real-time project locations - continuously updating based on database entries, and triggers (e.g. expiry dates)
3. Timeline view for projects with relevant information.
4. Integration into existing website with smooth user experience.
