Microsoft Teams Transcript Automation Bot
Budget: $250 – $750 USD
I need a Microsoft Teams-ready bot that can do two complementary jobs for me every time I’m in (or even away from) a meeting.
First, whenever I am the organiser or attendee and I give the signal, the bot must start the Teams transcript, keep it running, then save the full transcript to a OneDrive folder I specify. After the file lands in OneDrive I want to be able to send the bot a natural-language prompt such as “Action items from the last two meetings for Marketing” or “Tasks assigned to John and Priya” and have it analyse the stored text, pull out the requested action items, and return the answer to me directly in a Teams chat message.
Second, on days when I can’t attend, the bot should join the meeting on my behalf, attempt to switch on transcription itself, and—if that option is disabled—post a friendly request in the meeting chat asking participants to enable transcription. From there it follows the same routine: capture, save to OneDrive, and stay available for my follow-up queries.
Because of tenant restrictions you won’t have direct access to my Microsoft 365 environment. I will run every setup step on my side while you guide me live or through clearly documented instructions. I’m comfortable compensating for any extra hands-on time this approach requires.
Deliverables
• Source code (preferably using Azure Bot Framework, Microsoft Graph, and OneDrive API)
• A one-time deployment guide I can follow myself, covering app registration, permissions, and Teams installation
• Quick-start instructions showing the exact prompts I can use to pull action items by topic or person
• Brief troubleshooting notes for common permission or policy blockers
Acceptance criteria
• Bot reliably joins or monitors a Teams meeting, starts (or requests) transcription, and stores the .vtt/.docx file in my chosen OneDrive folder
• Follow-up questions in Teams chat return accurate, neatly formatted action items filtered by meeting count, topic, or assignee within 5 seconds
• All functionality works using only the rights granted through standard Microsoft 365 admin consent—no elevated tenant access required
