Exchange 2013 relay connector setup - on prem

I am looking for help to set up a relay connector in my Exchange 2013 environment, but I am not sure which type of connector I should use or what type of authentication I need. What I do know is that I need to limit the IP addresses that can access the connector. I am looking for an expert to provide advice on the best setup and guidance on implementation to ensure my Exchange system is secure and functioning correctly.
