Dog Registry
Budget: $250 – $750 USD
We are a small, non-profit, organization of dog breeders and owners of Shiloh Shepherd dogs. We have our own Registry that provides Kennel Registration, Litter Registration, Dog Updates, and a variety of reports to both the Registry as well as to the Breeders. We currently have roughly 1,500 records.
The Registry houses all of the information that is inputted by the Breeder and/or Owner, the files also include documents (i.e., X-ray reports, Health Reports, and Pictures). The Registry provides several types of documents that are both electronic and hardcopy to the Dog owners: Dog Registrations and Breeding Certificates.
The Registry does have an approval process in place: The Breeder and/or Owner can input information in the Registry but only a Registrar (there are two) can approve the information before it gets permanently entered.
Our current Registry was custom designed for us in Mongo Atlas and we use Azure to store all of the information, we also have Github. There are features in our current application that need updating and we have new items that need to be developed. Our current system works for what we are doing now (less the new options that we would like), but reports have not yet been developed and are currently being done manually.
We understand that this database is not necessarily user-friendly and would be open to discussing other potential solutions, but as initially stated, we are a small non-profit organization so funds are tight. We are looking for someone to either maintain our current system and provide piecemeal add ons or redesign it in such a way that it is more user-friendly. This is an application that we would like to control ourselves and only require maintenance and updates. We have plenty of documentation to explain how we need to have things work which we can get into once we come to an agreement.
