Azure-Hosted Excel Add-In Developer Needed
Budget: €250 – €750 EUR
We are seeking an experienced freelance developer to assist with the development of an Excel add-in hosted entirely on Azure. This tool is designed to help users categorize data in their Excel sheets against a custom set of categories they define. The add-in sends this information to OpenAI for processing, with additional back-end processing on our end to refine and deliver categorizations and insights directly back into Excel for the user’s future use.
The project has three primary components requiring your expertise:
Azure Infrastructure Setup: While we will handle the initial purchase and setup of Azure services, we need a developer with experience in configuring cloud infrastructure for Office add-ins to review and ensure the setup is optimized and fully operational.
Secure OpenAI API Key Integration: Users will activate the service by providing their own OpenAI API keys. We need to develop a secure and user-friendly mechanism to collect, store, and utilize these keys for enabling AI functionality within the Excel tool.
Front-End and Back-End syncing: Assistance is required to finalize the interaction between the Excel front-end and the Azure-hosted back-end application. I’ve coded the data processing part, but guidance is needed to resolve communication issues and ensure all components work together smoothly.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you should have the following qualifications:
Azure Cloud Expertise: Proven experience in configuring, managing, and optimizing Azure services, particularly for hosting Office add-ins or similar applications.
JavaScript/Node.js Proficiency: Strong experience with JavaScript and Node.js for developing and integrating front-end and back-end solutions.
Experience with Office Add-ins: Familiarity with the Office Add-in platform and its specific requirements is highly preferred.
API Security Knowledge: Experience in securely collecting, storing, and utilizing API keys, particularly for third-party integrations like OpenAI.
The expected timeline for project completion is 1 week.
