Finish a MS Access Database Project that Imports Excel Data to update a MS Access table.
Budget: £18 – £36 GBP
Project Summary:
I have an existing tool that is run from a Microsoft Access Database using forms and VBA code, which is designed to import Excel data and update a Microsoft Access table with updated content from these excel file(s).
The data in the excel files contains record entries that are updated, removed and added.
Application Logic:
Step 1: The excel files of new information are selected in a form. These files have 4 tabs that are referenced.
Step 2: Once the excels are defined, a comparison is done from the excel data and the data in the destination MS Access table. (Working)
Step 3: A MS Access Form shows all records that are updated / modified and removed, and I’m able to add comments to the records before importing the data to the final destination table. This is a staging part of the process, to tweak the data before the final import. (Working)
Step 4: Once I’m happy with the staging content, I press an “engage” button to update the final destination MS Access table from the Excel content. (90% working and needs finishing)
Requirement:
The application works 95%, but the final component of correctly performing the update to the final MS Access table is not working correctly – the updates mark removed records incorrectly and don’t exactly match the logic for the use case.
Unfortunately, the developer working on the project is no longer available, so I need a VBA / Access developer to finish the implementation for me.
