ERP Configuration & Customization Expert

We are seeking an experienced ERP consultant to evaluate, optimize, and enhance our existing Microsoft Access/SQL-based ERP system to eliminate redundant spreadsheets, streamline workflows, and improve data integrity across all business functions.
Project Scope:
The consultant will be required to conduct at least three onsite visits to gain a deep understanding of our current workflows, including how orders are processed from RFQ to shipping, including RMAs and engineering change requests (ECRs). During onsite visits, the consultant will work closely with key personnel, including the General Manager, VP of Engineering, Engineering, Inside Sales, Accounting, Shipping, Production Management, and Shop Floor Staff.
The consultant will be responsible for:
1. Reviewing our current ERP system for existing capabilities across all key functions.
2. Identifying gaps, redundancies, and inefficiencies in our workflows.
3. Proposing and implementing solutions that enhance usability, automation, and data accuracy.
4. Ensuring seamless integration of new features with our existing infrastructure.
Areas of Focus:
The consultant will assess and improve the following key areas:
• Quoting & Sales Orders – Optimize data entry, eliminate manual tracking.
• Work Orders & Scheduling – Enhance visibility and reduce bottlenecks.
• Purchasing & Inventory – Improve material tracking, automate reordering.
• Quality Management – Ensure traceability and compliance.
• Reporting & Business Intelligence – Upgrade dashboards and analytics.
• Shop Floor Kiosk & Barcode Integration – Improve real-time tracking.
• Accounting & Cost Analysis – Streamline job costing and financial reporting.
• Smart BOM & Engineering Change Management – Enhance revision control.
• Customer & Supplier Management – Optimize communication and tracking.
• Shipment Tracking – Integrate UPS WorldShip and automate logistics.
Hard Requirements:
✔ Minimum 5+ years of experience with ERP development in a manufacturing environment.
✔ Proficiency in Microsoft Access, SQL, and database optimization.
✔ Experience working with Work-In-Progress (WIP) tracking and production workflows.
✔ Ability to assess current system functionality and recommend enhancements.
✔ Availability for at least three onsite visits.
