Database build

Hi, we are looking at outsourcing our database build requirements. Currently we are using excel. We operate a ebay store, with a pretty basic 2 worksheet live stock and sold database. It records the sale price and location etc. As time goes on this will enviably become large, I am unsure of the best route access, sql and I am looking for help.
