Automating report generation from existing MS Access databases
Budget: $1,500 – $3,000 USD
I am looking for a freelancer who can create automated reports from our existing MS Access databases. The reports should consist of financial data, but must be able to be filtered in a specified way. The reports should be delivered as PDF files via email or other digital medium. I'm looking for someone with the technical know-how to take our current setup and make it more efficient. If you think you can help, please get in touch!
We design and install utility metering systems for office buildings, and collect 15-minute readings 24/7 from over 1,000 utility meters. We have developed our own desktop application to collect meter data and generate reports. When reports are run, data is written into MS Access database files.
We currently use Excel Macros to pull the data out of Access and into several workbooks that are then linked to final delivery report workbooks. We would like to eliminate the Excel work altogether and generate our reports directly from the MS Access tables storing the data.
Our goal is to automate and simplify the generation of energy reports (PDF’s with data charts) directly from the existing MS Access tables.
We want our reports to have a consistent look and feel, while increasing our turn-around time.
Currently we are doubling our workload (first in our reporting app. and then in Excel), whenever someone moves in or out of the buildings we monitor.
If you’re interested in the project, we can send you samples of the databases, the excel workbooks and the PDF reports for your review.
Please provide us with a quote for an initial, sample project we can name: "The Invoice Generation from Access" project.
You can e-mail me if you have any questions.
Best regards,
gbh
