Senior IT Technician for Remote Support

** Remote Freelance Server & Desktop Support Technician – Senior Microsoft Environment Specialist**

**About the Role**
We are **The Connected Office**, a South African-based IT solutions provider, seeking a highly experienced **freelance IT technician** to provide remote **server and desktop support** within a **100% Microsoft environment**. Availability during **South African business hours (GMT+2)** is essential.

**What You’ll Do**

* Provide advanced remote support for **Windows Server** environments
* Deliver desktop support for Windows OS across client devices
* Administer **Microsoft 365** (Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, OneDrive, licensing & security)
* Configure and manage **Intune**, **SCCM**, and **Endpoint Manager**
* Manage **Active Directory**, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy (**including printer deployment via GPO**)
* Troubleshoot and support **Exchange** (on-premises & cloud)
* Maintain security, backups, and patching best practices
* Provide ad-hoc network troubleshooting and desktop/laptop support

**Requirements**

* **Degree** in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (required)
* **10+ years** of proven IT support experience covering both **server and desktop** in Microsoft environments
* Expert-level Windows Server administration skills
* Strong Microsoft 365 tenant management experience
* Hands-on expertise with Intune, SCCM, Endpoint Manager, and Exchange
* Skilled in Group Policy administration, including printer deployment
* Strong networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, VLANs, routing, switching)
* Excellent remote troubleshooting & communication skills
* Must work during **South African business hours**
* Reliable high-speed internet connection
