Project SharePoint Document Management Setup
Budget: $1,500 – $3,000 CAD
I already have SharePoint Online through our Microsoft 365 Enterprise plan, yet the environment is still in its vanilla state. I need it converted into a focused, project-specific site that works first and foremost as a document-management hub.
Scope of work
• Build a new site (or site collection, if you think that’s cleaner) dedicated to one project.
• Configure libraries, folders or—if more efficient—metadata views to neatly separate our two document families: Project Files and Client Contracts.
• Turn on best-practice settings such as version history, check-in/out, and sensible retention so nothing is lost or overwritten.
• Design a clear permission model with multiple access levels; some users will need full control, others read-only, and a few roles will need access to contracts but not to all project material. Native SharePoint groups are fine as long as they stay easy to administer.
• If quick wins are possible with Power Automate (e.g., approval flow for contracts) or with a Teams tab integration, please flag and include them.
• Hand over concise documentation plus a short live walk-through so my team can maintain the site confidently.
Acceptance criteria
1. Site is visible inside our tenant with branding reflecting the project.
2. Both document types can be added, searched and versioned without permission leaks.
3. At least three distinct user roles demonstrate the required access restrictions in a test scenario.
4. Admin guide and 30-minute hand-off session delivered.
5. Site can be acccessed by the client
Everything is already licensed; I simply need your SharePoint Online expertise to stitch it together quickly and cleanly.
