Microsoft 365 Transition Implementation
Budget: $30 – $250 CAD
Instructions
The company you are working for has recently decided to make working remotely a permanent option for its employees. Your team has been tasked with moving the company’s files to Office 365 to allow for remote access. Your team is the first of many to make this move and will be used as the example for other departments. The roles in your team are as follows:
Manager (your team must have a Manager, you can choose from the other roles to complete your team)
Administrative Assistant
Sales Representative
Human Resource Partner
Project Lead
As part of your example you will be moving all of your teams “files” to your Microsoft Teams site and setup a file structure that allows for appropriate groups and permissions based on the roles in your team. Consider what each role would and would not need access to and how you would protect this information in the Team.
Details:
2-3 page Report that includes:
What is the structure of this team and why have you set it up this way
What roles did each member receive in the team and why?
How does this structure transfer to the SharePoint Site? Did you have to create special permissions?
What should other departments consider when setting up their Teams
Think about the differences between SharePoint, Teams and OneDrive – what processes should the departments have in place for managing their files?
Microsoft Team:
Add your Instructor as an Owner to the Team and all private channels
Add all members of your group with appropriate roles
Channels (public and private) created as needed
File folders in each channel to represent possible structures of each role
Summary Dashboards for each member of the team in the appropriate channel(s)
Team Files:
Each member of the Team will be responsible for creating their own Excel summary dashboard with the datasets provided. The Manager role will then create a Team Summary Dashboard with the important information about the team created from the information in the other Summary Dashboards. The dashboards should be able to be updated as you change the data in real time.
Other Roles Summary Dashboard:
Summary Bar at the top displaying your Picture, Role, Employee Number (student number) and relevant summary data
Charts, Tables and other relevant summary information
Manager Summary Dashboard:
Summary Bar at the top displaying your Team’s Department Name, the members of your team and their pictures
Summary based on each of their roles using charts and tables.
Keep in mind this summary will be visible to all members of the team – what information is necessary for your team to see about one another?
Microsoft Form:
Finally, you will create a Microsoft Form to help gather information about the tools other departments need to work remotely. Create a minimum of 10 questions in the form to collect this information and have each team member complete the form twice with fake data. After you have collected this data you will then create a Summary Dashboard of this information and place this in your Team- You may use the Forms autogenerated Results Summary.
You have to make only report of 2-3 page ,summaries of all group members, chart nd excel sheets as well as answer the questions
