Project Description:
I am a solo business owner setting up a new Surface PC with Microsoft 365 Business, and I’m looking for someone experienced in securing Microsoft 365 environments to help configure it properly.
My goal is to align with HIPAA security best practices (understanding this is not a certification), and to ensure my setup is secure, practical, and appropriate for handling sensitive information.
I primarily use Outlook, OneDrive, and SharePoint.
What I Need:
Secure configuration of my Microsoft 365 environment and device
Proper setup of authentication and access controls (e.g., MFA)
Data protection measures (including encryption and secure file handling)
Guidance on best practices for working with sensitive data
Important:
This is a small, single-user setup, but I want it done correctly
You should be able to explain what you’re doing and why in clear, non-technical terms
I value practical, maintainable solutions over overly complex setups
Deliverables:
Configured (or guided) secure setup
A clear summary of the setup and simple guidance for maintaining it on my own
