Fix Entra AD Sync Error
Budget: $50 – $150 USD
I have installed the Microsoft Entra Provisioning Agent on my primary domain controller and the setup wizard completes without complaining, yet the very first directory-to-cloud synchronisation never starts. In other words, everything looks fine until the moment local Active Directory objects should appear in Microsoft 365—then nothing happens. The issue surfaces right at the initial sync stage and reports a generic “sync errors or failures” message.
Environment
• Windows Server 2019 acting as the primary DC
• On-prem AD that must sync users, groups and contacts to O365
• Exchange Server 2016 - latest CU and we did replaced the existing on-premise Exchange–O365 hybrid transport connection with a new secure relay/emulation-based mail routing setup to ensure continued mail flow and service stability after Microsoft’s October 15 deprecation of legacy hybrid connections.
• After we finished to set-up the Graphical API.
Somehow we did insalled the Latest Microsoft Entra Provisioning Agent (not the old Azure AD Connect)
What I need
– Diagnose why the agent cannot push objects to Microsoft 365 during its first run.
– Apply the fix (permissions, endpoints, certificates, service accounts—whatever is actually broken).
– Trigger a clean initial sync and show that new or changed AD objects appear in the cloud.
– Provide a brief summary of the steps you took so I can repeat them in staging, if required.
You should already be comfortable with Entra ID, hybrid identity troubleshooting, and the usual tools (PowerShell modules, Entra portal, Event Viewer, Sync diagnostics). Remote access will be arranged over a secure session at an agreed time. I’m ready to start as soon as you are.
