Project Title: Microsoft 365 Migration Consultant – On-Premises Active Directory to Cloud-Only Microsoft 365
We are seeking an experienced Microsoft 365 consultant to assist with migrating a small municipal government from an on-premises Windows Active Directory environment to a cloud-managed Microsoft 365 environment.
Current Environment
Windows Server Active Directory
Approximately 20 users
Microsoft 365
Windows 10 and Windows 11 workstations
Exchange Online already in use
SharePoint Online and OneDrive available
Intune licensing available
Multi-factor Authentication enabled
Project Goals
Assess the current Active Directory environment
Determine the safest migration strategy to a cloud-only Microsoft 365 environment
Configure Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD)
Configure Microsoft Intune for device management
Join workstations directly to Microsoft Entra ID
Migrate Group Policy settings to Intune where appropriate
Configure Conditional Access and security policies
Configure Windows Autopilot if recommended
Verify OneDrive Known Folder Move and SharePoint access
Remove dependencies on on-premises Active Directory where practical
Decommission local domain services after migration is complete

We are looking for someone who has completed multiple Microsoft 365 cloud migration projects and can recommend best practices rather than simply performing technical tasks.
