UHF RFID shield for Arduino -- 2

Thank you for your time to read in entirety & understanding before responding. You must be very adept with embedded
systems HW/FW/Antenna, UHF RFID board designing. A reasonably accurate TOF (Time of Flight) timing calculation for
each RFID read/write transaction over the air is desirable.
UHF range (US, Europe, AUS, Asia. US is 1st.) for reading/writing tags over a long distance (5 meters) desired. Must
return RSSI also. There should be a way to read the messages transmitted,
received ( to as close as possible to antenna) to the host application. This is extremely response time
sensitive app, so there should be minimum latency between system timestamp and the activity close to antenna. Save a log of each
transaction with very precise time stamp, as TOF will have to be calculated & saved. The system will read many
tags quickly, simultaneously and save the transactional logs. Use Gen2 protocol. All RFID standards will be
followed by you in the design to minimize error rates. The antenna will be removable & use Omni or a directional
antenna, support both types - one at a time in use. We have several OEM RFID readers and tags in office already and have
been heavily involved with RFID technologies.
We have 2 alternate possibilities here. You may quote one or both.
ALTERNATE 1: Need an Arduino shield developed/built. Use readily available components. Please use Python or C,
native to Arduino to cut down latency. The connection used for comm with Arduino should be the fastest way of
exchanging data with it. Will need all the Gerber files, BOM, and hardware components etc. from you. If you can
assemble the PCB for the prototype unit, quote as an option, else, explain how can we get a prototype quickly
to test the solution.
If you will not assemble, then you shall provide a BOM to us early enough, so we can procure them, design the PCB,
have it built in India (based on your design). All the ownership rights will be vested to us with source code,
all support documentation, drawings. A step file for HW and 3D printable file for the enclosure will be quoted as an option.
If options are not quoted, we shall assume all options are included in your bid.
ALTERNATE 2: A pre-built RFID reader board with RS232, USB or TCP interface, where a tap is available to a point
as close to antenna as possible. The solution eill help tap the outgoing, incoming messages and save with timestamps.
So the impact of variability of OS timimgs, electronic processing etc. be minimized. This is due to time
criticality and repeatable accuracy of response from system is highly desirable. All the related data, source codes,
documentation etc. will be provided to us. The source of the board & any upgrades to it will have to be documented
as a user manual & provided. Get our approval before proceeding. We can get you this board, if needed (please specify, else we assume is part of your bid).
If milestone payments are needed, please provide desired milestones. Payment will only be made after submission of
work till that date & approval by us. The budget given here is a placeholder only, so please quote your best bid with delivery.
