Our project endeavors to create an advanced wireless digital I/O two-way controller customized for agricultural fields covering an extensive area of 200x200 meters. The system architecture consists of a central main node and multiple field nodes strategically dispersed across the field, ensuring seamless control, monitoring, and battery management functionalities.
Key Features:
• Main Node Integration with Raspberry Pi:
• The central main node is seamlessly integrated with a Raspberry Pi 4, featuring a touchscreen interface. We have developed an intuitive GUI to simplify configuration and operation processes.
• Field Node Configuration: Each field node, spaced at intervals exceeding 150 meters, is equipped with two digital outputs and two digital inputs. These nodes utilize Raspberry Pi Pico microcontrollers for efficient data processing and wireless communication.
• Long-Range Wireless Communication via LoRa: The system employs LoRa modules for robust long-distance wireless communication between the main node and field nodes, ensuring uninterrupted connectivity even in remote areas.
• Comprehensive User Interface: The main node's interface includes:
o Configuration Page: Effortlessly configure and pair field nodes.
o Real-Time Dashboard: Monitor and control field nodes, receiving notifications for digital input status changes.
o Master Control Button: Simultaneously activate all field nodes for streamlined operations.
• Integrated Alarm System: Raspberry Pi at the main node triggers digital outputs to activate alarms or hooters, providing immediate alerts for critical events.
• Email and On-Screen Notifications: Upon digital input status changes, the system triggers email notifications to pre-configured addresses and displays on-screen alerts on the main node, ensuring proactive monitoring and response.
• Historical Data Logging: The main node records digital I/O status changes with timestamps, facilitating historical data analysis for performance optimization.
• Battery Monitoring and Management: Field nodes monitor battery levels and send notifications to the main node, triggering on-screen alerts and email notifications for timely battery maintenance and replacement.
