One-Time Project – Modify Official Firmware for D-Link DSL-3882 (Permanent Edit)
I'm looking for an experienced firmware developer or embedded systems expert to perform a permanent firmware modification on a D-Link DSL-3882 (A1) router.

Objective:
Remove or disable the enforced PPPoE username format (currently requires username@domain).

The change must persist even after factory reset (i.e. modifying and rebuilding the actual firmware).

No OpenWRT or third-party firmware – just a clean edit of the original D-Link firmware based on the provided GPL source code.

Scope of Work:
Extract and modify the official firmware source (DSL3882A1_GPL101EU.tar.gz).

Locate and edit the username validation logic in HTML/JS or backend.

Rebuild the firmware using the correct toolchain.

Deliver a flashable .bin or .img file that I can upload through the router's firmware upgrade interface.

Provide brief documentation on what was changed and how to flash.

Requirements:
Experience with embedded Linux and firmware build systems.

Familiarity with MIPS architecture and D-Link firmware structure.

Ability to deliver clean and working firmware image.

(Optional) Ability to test before delivery.
