Automatic Railway Crossing using ESP32.
Budget: ₹1,500 – ₹12,500 INR
We'll use LoRa with ESP32 programming to control the whole railway crossing system.
The crossing will be fully automatic.
We'll use 2 Load Cells, 2 Inductive Sensors, 4 InfraRed sensors, 2 servomotors and 2 LoRa ESP32 wifi module.
Each end of the project will have 1 Load Cell, 1 Inductive Sensor, 1 IR sensor.
The Load cells will detect the train, only after a minimum weight is triggered, Inductive sensor will work as counter for the train wheels (minimum count is 2).
IR to detect obstacles.
Originally we need, three LoRa but for this project we well be using 2 only due to budget problems.
All the communication will be done through LoRa.
When Load cells and inductive sensors detects the train, it will send a signal to the Lora (transmitter) . Lora next transfers the signal to a receiver Lora which will send signal to shut the gates. We are using servo motor as the gates.
Only lora to lora communication is wireless, rest components are connected to the lora through wire.
There is a buzzers and. 4 traffic lights near the crossing. 2 traffic light for roadway and 2 for the train tracks facing in opposite directions.
Buzzer will ring when a train is detected and stops ringing after the gate shuts down.
