Proofreading and Translation of a Microbial Research Manuscript on Oil Spill Impact

Job ID: 40248579

Budget: €250 – €750 EUR

I am seeking a qualified professional to review and refine a comprehensive microbial research document examining the dangers of oil spills in terrestrial environments and their impact on indigenous microorganisms. The study evaluates how hydrocarbon contamination alters soil microbial diversity, metabolic activity, and ecological balance in affected regions.

The research also draws comparative references to oil spill incidents and environmental impacts in selected Spanish-speaking countries, including Mexico, Colombia, and Venezuela, where petroleum-related activities have significantly influenced soil and ecosystem health.

Scope of Work:
1. Proofreading and Editing (English Version):
• Careful correction of grammatical and structural errors
• Enhancement of clarity, scientific tone, and logical flow
• Improvement of technical terminology usage
• Ensuring coherence across chapters and sections
• Alignment with academic research standards
2. Translation (English to Spanish):
• Accurate and professional translation of the full document into Spanish
• Preservation of scientific terminology and environmental microbiology concepts
• Maintenance of academic tone suitable for university-level review
• Cultural and linguistic adaptation appropriate for Spanish-speaking academic contexts

The Spanish translation is required for submission to my assistant supervisor, who only understands Spanish.

Required Qualifications:
• Strong background in microbiology, environmental science, or related scientific disciplines
• Proven experience in academic proofreading
• Demonstrated expertise in English–Spanish scientific translation
• Familiarity with terminology related to petroleum contamination, soil microbiology, and environmental impact studies

Deliverables:
• One fully proofread and edited English version
• One professionally translated Spanish version
• Optional tracked-changes version of the edited manuscript

Objective:
The goal is to ensure the research meets international academic standards while also being accurately translated for Spanish-speaking academic supervision.
