Secure MERN Refactor & AWS Deployment
Budget: ₹1,500 – ₹12,500 INR
I need an experienced MERN-stack developer to tighten the security of my existing application and get it running smoothly on AWS. Both the React front-end and the Node/Express back-end need a focused refactor that eliminates weak spots and follows today’s best practices.
Scope of work
• Review the current codebase and pinpoint vulnerabilities on both sides of the stack.
• Implement data encryption wherever sensitive information is stored or transmitted—at minimum secure password hashing and HTTPS/TLS throughout.
• Introduce or upgrade robust user authentication (preferably JWT with refresh tokens) and make sure role-based access control is consistently enforced.
• Clean up configuration by moving secrets to AWS-managed solutions (Parameter Store or Secrets Manager) and ensuring environment variables are handled safely.
• Containerise or otherwise prepare the app for a smooth push to AWS, then deploy (EC2, Elastic Beanstalk, or a lightweight ECS setup—whichever you’re comfortable with) and confirm everything runs securely behind properly configured security groups and an SSL certificate.
• Deliver concise documentation covering the refactor, AWS deployment steps, and how to maintain these new security layers.
I’m looking for someone who’s comfortable auditing code, fixing it fast, and explaining what was done. If you have previous success hardening MERN apps on AWS, let’s talk—share a brief example or two and an estimated turnaround time.
