MERN Video MVP in 15 Days
Budget: $250 – $750 USD
I need a small video-centric MVP that will be used internally for corporate training and announcements. The build must follow a clear MVC structure on the backend (Node.js + Express + MongoDB) and a lightweight, responsive React front end.
Core workflow
• Admins manage the catalogue: create, read, update, and delete records for each video.
• Users sign up or log in through JWT-based authentication, browse the catalogue, and watch the videos.
• Videos arrive via direct file upload only; no external links are needed at this stage.
Technical expectations
– Clean folder structure separating models, controllers, and routes.
– RESTful API design with concise, well-documented endpoints.
– Secure JWT middleware protecting all non-public routes.
– React components styled for quick load times on desktop and mobile.
– MongoDB schemas that anticipate basic metadata (title, description, file path, upload date).
Acceptance criteria
1. A user can register, log in, and receive a valid token.
2. An admin can upload an MP4, see it listed instantly, edit its metadata, or delete it.
3. Any authenticated user can select a video from the list and stream it in the built-in player.
4. Source code is version-controlled (Git) with clear commit history and a succinct README explaining setup.
5. Deployed demo (Heroku, Render, or similar) accessible for final review.
Timeline & communication
The deadline is firm at 15 days. I’m looking for daily or at minimum every-other-day progress updates (Git pushes plus a brief note). Include links to comparable MERN projects you’ve delivered—especially media applications—and let me know whether you prefer a fixed price or hourly engagement.
